Founded with the mission of addressing the mental health needs of Muslim communities in America, Zehn focuses particularly on refugee populations whose psychological well-being is often neglected, misdiagnosed, and inadequately supported.

Refugees frequently confront complex mental health challenges resulting from displacement, prolonged conflict, persecution, loss, and trauma. These individuals often require multifaceted support approaches. However, traditional Western therapeutic modalities frequently fall short in addressing the culturally specific experiences of this group, potentially exacerbating feelings of alienation and disconnection.

Zehn Mental Health is a registered nonprofit organization established by Farhan Haque, a senior at Princeton Day School. The organization currently operates in the United States and India, collaborating with five partner organizations to support refugee assistance initiatives.

The Zehn mobile application extends the NGO’s efforts by providing increased awareness and accessible mental health resources for Muslims globally. This digital platform facilitates engagement and support beyond conventional service models.
